Oh, sigh.....

You know how sometimes you really want this:

Prada boots

but instead you get this:
Honda Rancher

That's how it went down around our house in the past few weeks! Not that I'm not thrilled to have this farm helper, it's just that I can't wear it with cute jeans or skirts and feel good about myself. Damn you Honda Rancher, damn you!

Oh, and before you start thinking that we got this thing for "fun" - it's really for work around the property. It will pull the huge field mower attachment:
Field mower attachment - also more expensive than the Prada boots!

And, it will also get up our access road and will haul logs and dirt and make it easier for us to get chores done. Which means that we will get to play more golf in the summer, and someday I will be asked to join the Womens Sr. Tour and get a bunch of money in endorsements and ultimately be able to afford the Prada boots.

So I guess things will all work out. In the mean time, don't tell anyone we got a 4 wheeler - it's kind of embarrassing.

Good stuff for Cheap

Here it is, the middle of summer, places to go, people to see - and damn it - I needed something(s) cute to get me through the last stretch toward fall. Check out these super cheap and super awesome nuggets I picked up last week.

1. These Old Navy Women's The Diva Skinny Jeans for $15.97. So, A month or so ago, I got this linen blend navy tunic at J.Crew that looks slightly Tory Burch, slightly 70's Elizabeth Taylor - anyway, awesome but needed something good on the bottom that wasn't baggy, because you are going to look like a blob if you mix a loose tunic with baggy pants. These are the perfect white jeans for cuff up and wear with the tunic and espadrilles or with the Blue Superga's that I just got at Nordstrom. I would show you the tunic but it has mysteriously disappeared from the J.Crew website. Oh well. Anyway, these jeans have just the right amount of stiff and right amount of stretchy so they don't bag up and they look really cute. Get some immediately before they are gone.

This super cute Target Xhilaration Fedora Had with Band - $3.99 Ok, so the price online says $10 bucks or something like that, but it's $3.99 in the store. I went in to look at cheap sunglasses and came out with this. I've been coveting the J. Crew white fedora - which I might still really want - but c'mon, the price is right at Target, and now maybe I'll end up with more than one. Super cute.

And, last but not least. Check out this this pair (sort of - if you combined the colors - the website doesnt show the exact ones) of Havaiana's at Nordstrom Rack for $12.99. Again, the price is not $26.00, it's $12.99 at the Rack and they are blue with cute neon green.

So, now i have a few new things, and I didn't really spend anything - and I'm taking all these things to Croatia - which by the way - is just ONE MONTH AWAY! Whoohooooo!

Dear Stripes - I love you!

It’s true, I love stripes. I have to fight to keep from buying every cute striped thing I see. Unless it’s pants, which I don’t want in stripes. Why do I have a sudden recollection of Duran Duran right now thinking about striped pants? I had to google it – but all I could find was this pic of Simon Le Bon in a striped shirt. I could swear he had on baggy striped pants in some 80’s video. Love the 80’s!

Ok, back to the stripes. I love them. Here are few things I’ve seen lately that of course I love. Have a stripey 4th of July – and maybe throw on a little Duran Duran while you’re at it.... her name is Rio and she dances on the sand…..

These F*ing Shoes

Super excited this morning to see the arrival of a package from Gilt Group! I ordered these super cute sandals for summer. Yay! They go with my outfit today - so I'll wear them.

Now I want to kill them. They wont stay on. When I walk I have to shuffle or they will just slide right off. Look man, I don't have weird feet - I wear sandals, flip flops, whatever, name it.... no problems. These f*ckers will not stay on. I've only had to walk from the condo to the car, from the parking lot to my office, my office to the coffee machine and back and I am about to throw them out the window.

Thinking about hacking them somehow. Should I add something sticky under the top part? Should I get some ribbon to tie around the back. Should I NOT buy items on sale without wondering why they are on sale. I'm imagining a giant warehouse somewhere in New Jersey (sorry New Jersey) floor to ceiling with these shoes in every color - NOT SELLING! Has anyone else had this problem?

Here they are. Sorry Kelsi Dagger, no offense, I still like your other shoes!
(PS. this is not my home carpet, it's the office carpet - don't judge)
Anyway, see ya later super cute sandals. Wish we could have hung out longer, but 2 hours is as far as this relationship is going. Time for you to "step-off"!

Nike - Me Likey!

You know what Nike is doing that is totally awesome? Letting you be a shoe designer!!!

You can jump on Nike’s website and look for sneakers (I was looking at Nike Free 3.0) and there on the left side of the page I found the “Customize it with Nike ID” link –you can totally turn your sneaks into whatever color combination you like. Of course I picked the most neon-y bright color combo’s I could find (because I’m from the 80’s) and I have to say I LOVE THEM!  Super comfy and all that, but I’m mostly excited to wear them for the bright and shiny factor. I kind of like them best without socks though – so I might regret that when they start to stink, but right now I LOVE THEM. Did I mention that I LOVE THEM. I LOVE THEM!

And one more thing. You can customize the front of the tongue with your name or whatever you want, so I chose GO on one foot and FAST on the other – for a little extra motivation to get after it.

And one more other thing. I’m not a huge Nike person, I have a few things here and there but not more than other sportswear company items – so I’m not trying to force you into a Northwest brand.  This is just such a great marketing and sales tool – you need to know about it. And sorry, it’s not cheap, but for a custom item, I didn’t feel like it broke the bank either.

And lastly – I’ll be so upset if I get them dirty. Wah. Mine are below - the swoosh is actually the neon orange color too - but the flash is making it looks white - but it's not. That would be way too normal.

How Old is Old Enough?

Am I finally allowed to wear a one piece bathing suit at 49 years old? Please say yes! Look how pretty the above suits are - oh, and here's a bonus, you can walk and talk and go in the water and all your bits and pieces stay where you put them!

All those years of bikini's and self loathing - over it! I'll be the cute one over there with the super awesome one piece - now get me a gin and tonic! These were all on-line at Bloomingdale's, I'll post more as i find them. And yes, i will stand at the beach in all of the above poses -
